More power

Messaggio da Skopos »

Hi everyone. I am John from Greece. I am an owner of a Cagiva Navigator and i want to change it with Caponord 2004 ABS model. I made a test drive few days ago and the bike was excellent. The only problem i found was that the engine need more power especially in low speeds and r.p.m. compared with the navigator or some other bikes in the same category.
Is ther any chance to make the engine more powerful especially in low r.p.m. with out changing the exhaust system?
May be a new injection program?
The only thing that keeping me from buing caponord is the engine power problem.
Thanks.

Hi there John
Welcome among the Caponord fans. I am not sure that the impression of lack of power is correct, I believe that thereis plenty available, at all ranges. Perhaps, with a brand new bike, the engine had the engine administartor mapped as it comes out of the factory. Many of us had to go back and have it canged after the first check-up done at 1000 km. Believe me that the engine gives out more and better torque. It will take a little for the engine to give it's best, and the more you ride, the better it gets. last but not least, the frame that the Caponord has is way behond the capabilities of your CAGIVA, The alluminum frame does not bend or give, and at high speeds, the frame will not cause any waves, as you bike probably does. Keep in touch and have fun

Bye, MisterG
Motorcycle the more you know, the better it is

Thank you Guys for the response. The bike i ride has 84 PS on the wheel and 7.8 Nm torque and all this in high r.p.m. The measurement made by 2 different moto magazines.
Also i read in an American site that a lot of owners has problem with the wind noise. One guy said that all this years he has 25 different bikes and Caponord is the most noisier. Is it true?
I thought that Caponord protects very well the passengers from the wind. And another thing i saw a manual from Caponord for the American market in another site and the power they announced was 118 PS in the engine and here in Greece Caponord has 98 PS in the engine (84 on the wheel).
In Italy what power the magasines said Caponord has?
