how they plug in? Do they have the same type of connector of the standard lamps?

Do they look more or less the same in comparison with the lamps?

They plug straight in because the fitting is the same.
They do look exactly the same as the normal ones only with about 20 something leds on them.
When I asked if they are legal for road use they told me that they don't have to be approved, as long as the plastic lens is approved (ie has a CE mark on it). Which i suppose means they are ok. I haven't been able to to ask another opinion.
Most of the buses in Birmingham(UK) are using LED stop lights now ...

They were a bit expensive (compared to a normal light bulb 60p they cost 20 times more 12.50), but they look better (i think) and will last longer (although don't think 20 times more than a normal one )

Here in Italy the 'book of road rules' is quite 'hard', so, i think that such kind of modification, here, must be approved.
May be that the builder of the bike (or auto or bus) must perform some test or just make same written documents for a new approval also if the new led lamp is CE approved. May be that the rules are different in UK and you can do such kind of modifications.
