Heated Grips and RR

I'm trying to install the Aprilia heated grips on my Rally Raid.
Haven't quite finished yet but I have some questions if somebody had tried it before:

1. In the instructions it says to replace the left side nut for the handlebars with the longer one that comes with the kit. I've tried it but it couldn't fit so I've used the original one. Any reason for having to use the longer one?

2. In the instructions it says to replace the connector to the headlights with the one that comes from the new accessory loom, for the standard Capo. No mention about the RR. Is there any difference?

3. In the instructions it says to replace the standard flasher relay with the one provided with the accessory kit. Does it have to be connected with the new connector from the accessory wiring loom, or the old one from the original wiring loom?
