Hello
finally, after more than half a year the original Aprilia crash bars have been delivered after insisting once more Aprilia Belgium contacted Aprilia Italy (once more) and arranged the delivery.
But there are no fitting instructions included. Who can help me with a copy of the fitting instructions ? Of course I will ask Aprilia to send these to me but I lost my patience and hope one of you has them.
The following problems I experienced already:
The clamp (part nr. 8134943) which is the bar connecting the two crash bars cannot be fixed to the radiator because the original hex socket screws with which the plastic radiator protection is fixed at the upper side are too short and there are no new (longer) screws in the package.
And I have no idea how I can fix the crash bar at the right nor left side. At the right side it looks like I have to install a support (part nr. 8134961) where the cooling liquid expansion drum is fixed. But how ? The dimension makes me puzzled. And at the left side it looks even more strange.
I hope I did not buy a set of crash bars which doesn't fit on my Capo of 2003.
If it helps, I can post a scan of the part list with drawing. Unfortunately that drawing does not explain how to fit it.
How can I post that attachment ?
thanks

Hi Filip,
Have a look at pages 15-16 of:
http://82.37.56.20/mach7/CaponordRR/Upd ... nglish.pdf
I know it's not exactly what you want, and it's about removing the crash bars instead of fitting them, but maybe it helps you.
I'm sure that other people have fitted the crash bars, so maybe they can help you even more by sending the original instructions..
Good luck

Filip,
crash bars fit all the models of standard CN, I'll try to look for the instructions, but I think I throw them away...
As far as I remember, also I found a couple of screws missing (longer ones), and I had to buy them separately if I wanted to use the spacers...
If I find something I'll post it...
